建设乡隶属福建省漳州市诏安县，位于县境中西部，东北面与红星乡相邻，西面与广东省饶平县交界，全乡辖5个社区和8个行政村。[1][2]

乡名沿用的是1958年创办的国营建设农场的名称，农场于1984年改制设乡。[3][5]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属诏安县第三都，分为第五图和第十二图两部分。清末这一带称第三都的维新区，到民国十九年（1930年）才并入第三区。[3]

1950年以后，这一带的村庄先归第三区、第六区，后属西潭区，各村的隶属多次变动。1958年，在此办起国营建设农场，原有村庄并入农场，分设作业区。1984年，农场改制设乡。[2][4]

地理环境[edit]

乡境气候宜人，属亚热带季风性湿润气候，土壤含硒量高，省道诏平线与厦深铁路穿越全境。[2][3]

人口民族[edit]

2017年，全乡常住人口为12322人。[3]

乡内的建华作业区是印尼侨民的聚居地。[2]

经济[edit]

乡内盛产八仙茶、青梅、柑桔和食用菌，农产品富含硒元素。其中「丹诏红」八仙茶和「建设坪路蕉柑」是乡里的特色农产品。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年2月，建设乡列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

月港村内的「中共云和诏县委旧址」于2018年被福建省人民政府列为第九批省级文物保护单位。1935至1937年间，中共云和诏县委的机关驻在这里，闽粤边特委和闽粤边独立营也常以此地为据点开展工作。[6]

坪路村内有两座明代建筑，「坪路陈氏宗祠（永福堂）」与「坪路龙兴庙」，在2016年6月28日一同列入「诏安县第十六批县级文物保护单位」。[7][8]
