旧宙村位于白洋乡西部，座落在八仙麓，靠近闽粤边界，与广东省联饶镇相邻。村内下辖旧宙、宅仔、许厝乡、下埔四个自然村，是革命老区基点村。[1]

村里以八仙茶、蘑菇、荔枝、龙眼等农业种植为主要产业，近年大力发展林果经济。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1993年7月，旧宙村改为白洋乡旧宙村。此前的1984年10月政社分开后，它属西潭乡旧宙村，1964年起为西潭公社旧宙大队。1961年体制下放时属西潭区白石公社旧宙大队。1959年9月并入建设农场的作业区，此前的1958年5月属白石乡。解放初这里属第二区西桥乡。[1]
