东山村位于白洋乡境内，紧邻连站大道，与深桥镇考湖村接壤。村名的来历是村东有一座小山，全村的水向西流去。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1993年4月，东山村改属白洋乡。1984年10月政社分开后，它是西潭乡东山村；1961年体制下放时，已成为西潭公社的东山大队。此前的1958年至1959年间，它依次归属西潭乡、幸福人民公社和红旗人民公社。解放初归第二区管辖，为塘桥乡所辖。[1]
