历史沿革[edit]
清末这里归第三都的东湖、维新两区管辖，1930年（民国十九年）起归第三区。新中国成立后分属第五、第六两区，1960年合为西潭人民公社。1984年转为乡制，2016年取消乡一级建制，改以镇的名义设置。[1][2]

厦深铁路在镇境内设有诏安站。[3]
