焕塘村位于秀篆镇境内，村名取自两处旧地名各一字，村中有清代所建的焕塘开元寺。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村名由焕彩堂与塘尾两处旧地名中各取一字组成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前，这一带曾与彩山乡合为焕彩堂保。1950年设焕塘乡，属第六区；1951年改为第七区焕塘乡，1952年改属第九区，1955年为秀篆区焕塘乡，1956年改属官陂区。[1]
1958年9月设和平人民公社焕塘管理区，1959年改为秀篆公社焕塘大队，1964年仍称秀篆公社焕塘大队。1984年10月改设秀篆乡焕塘村，1992年3月改为秀篆镇焕塘村。[1]
文化[edit]
焕塘开元寺建于清代，2013年4月17日被列为「诏安县第十四批县级文物保护单位」，寺墙外延东面40米，西、南、北各10米。[1]
台湾渊源[edit]
1988年以来，台湾黄氏宗亲多次组团到焕塘村祭祖。[2]
