地名由来[edit]
相传古时有一位李道人，背着鼓从空中经过，鼓掉落地面后化作一块平地，人们称之为鼓坪。客家话里「鼓」与「埔」读音相近，此后便写作埔坪。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年此地设埔坪乡，属第七区；1952年至1954年归第九区，1955年划入秀篆区，1956年改属官陂区。[1]
1958年9月，村庄成为和平人民公社的埔坪生产管理区，1959年改为秀篆公社埔坪大队。1984年改设秀篆乡埔坪村，1992年改为秀篆镇埔坪村。[1]
台湾渊源[edit]
1990年以来，台湾王氏、游氏的宗亲有二十多次组团到埔坪村寻根谒祖。[2]
产业[edit]
部分村民以传统手工方法制作米粉，也种植茶叶、青梅和柿子。[1]
