堀龙村位于秀篆镇境内，是镇下辖的一个行政村，村名的来历与当地山势有关。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村名一方面借用了附近一处旧村名里的「龙」字，另一方面是因为周围几道山岗走向蜿蜒，状如一条龙，村民便聚居在这一带。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年此地属第六区堀龙乡；1951年改属第七区，1952年转入第九区，仍称堀龙乡。1955年划入秀篆区，1956年改属官陂区。[1]

1958年9月，村域组成和平人民公社下的堀龙生产大队；1959年并入秀篆公社，1964年复称秀篆公社堀龙大队。1984年改设秀篆乡堀龙村，1992年改为秀篆镇堀龙村。[1]

文化[edit]

村中的堀龙隘门宫为清代建筑，2013年4月17日被列为「诏安县第十四批县级文物保护单位」，保护范围为宫的四至外延50米。[1]
