雄鸡村是福建省漳州市诏安县太平镇下辖的行政村，村民以水果、耕种和外出务工为生。村名的来历是村委驻地在本村，1961年成立大队时，因辖地形状像雄鸡而定名。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村委设在雄鸡村内，村名由此而来。1961年建立大队时，因本村的辖地形状似雄鸡，遂定名为雄鸡。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年归第五区雄圩乡，1955年6月归太平区雄圩乡。1958年9月归团结公社景坑大队，1961年5月划入大布公社的太平区，成为雄鸡大队，1964年4月改隶太平公社。1984年10月置太平乡雄鸡村委会，1992年起称太平镇雄鸡村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予雄鸡村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
