桥园村位于诏安县城东郊，与县城隔一座桥相望，距桥东镇政府约1公里。村域面积约1.5平方公里，全村870户3393人，辖5个自然村、18个村民小组。[1]

村名各取桥头、后园两个村落中的一字组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年村地属溪澳乡，1955年改属桥园乡，1958年设东方红人民公社桥园大队。1961年起隶属桥东公社。[1]

1984年改为乡属村，1992年改称镇属村。[1]

桥园市场[edit]

桥园市场是全省最大的村级海产品批发市场，设在本村。桥东中学、邮政所和金融机构也在村内，村里是镇区最繁华的地段之一。[1][2]

近年村里改造升级了桥园市场，并按「四立一督」的机制规范发包，村集体经济因此明显增长。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村庄获命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」，命名单位为福建省爱卫办。[1]
