悬钟村是梅岭镇下辖的行政村，位于镇政府驻地南部，在宫口港东岸。村子东面临诏宫公路，西至宫口村，南接东门村，北邻腊洲村。全村只辖小悬钟一个自然村，村委会驻此。[1]
地名与历史沿革[edit]
村名由驻地小悬钟村而来。民国时属梅中乡；解放后先归第一、第三区宫玄乡，其后，1954年一度改属三区玄洲乡，此后，1956年5月才划入四都区宫玄乡。[1]
1958年设东方红公社玄钟管理区，接着，1961年5月成为下河公社玄钟大队，其后，1964年归桥东公社，此后，1978年再属下河公社，接着，1982年改隶梅岭公社。其后，1984年10月起由梅岭乡的悬钟村委会管理，此后，1991年起称现名。[1]
自然环境与生计[edit]
村子临近沿海平原，杨、林、陈诸姓相杂而居，聚落的平面呈棱形。村民讲闽南话，分为13个村民小组，全村720户、2945人。耕地约1959亩，山林地2000余亩，主种花生、地瓜与水稻。[1][2]
养殖业撑起了村里的经济，主要品种为东风对虾、长毛虾与日本对虾，产品多外销。村内另有内海捕捞，设有烤鳗厂与大型水产加工企业各一家。村子通汽车，设有停靠站。[1]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办于2021年11月认定悬钟村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
