宫口村是梅岭镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西南部，村名取自驻地所在的宫口港入海口。村子东邻悬钟村，南与赤石湾村相接，村委会驻宫口自然村。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

村子位于宫口港入海口，因此取名宫口。民国时属梅中乡；解放后先隶第一、第三区宫玄乡，其后，1956年5月改属四都区宫玄乡，此后，1958年9月划入东方红人民公社宫口管理区。[1]

1961年5月起属下河公社宫口大队，接着，1978年归下河公社，其后，1982年属梅岭公社。此后，1984年10月起由梅岭乡的宫口村委会管辖，接着，1991年起称现名。[1]

自然环境与生计[edit]

村落呈长方形，张、陈、沈、白等姓杂居。村民讲闽南话，分为3个村民小组，全村370户、1397人。村内耕地约369亩，主种地瓜、花生与水稻。[1]

渔业方面，拖网船有3艘、小机船15只。村民捕获金色沙丁鱼、马鲛、鲳鱼一类鱼获，同时开展对虾的海水养殖。村内建有鱼寮23间、制冷厂一间与商店18间。[1]

村子是诏安至宫口公路的终点站，水陆交通便利。宫口码头自古是本省本县对外贸易港口，今天承担海上客货运输。村内设有边防派出所与台胞接待站。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

宫口天后宫为明代古建筑，位于宫口村，其后，2013年列入县级文物保护单位。宫口天后宫的保护范围据博雅地名网所载，东侧接有摩崖石刻。[2]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月认定宫口村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
