赤石湾村是梅岭镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西南部，东邻烟墩山，西临宫口港，南连南门村，北至宫口村。全村只辖赤石湾一个自然村，村委会驻此。[1]
地名与历史沿革[edit]
村名取自驻地赤石湾自然村。民国时属梅中乡；新中国成立后先属第一区与第三区宫玄乡，其后，1956年改隶四都区宫玄乡，此后，1958年划入东方红人民公社宫口管理区。[1]
1978年归下河公社赤石湾大队。接着，1984年10月起村子改由梅岭乡管辖，称赤石湾村委会；其后，1991年起称梅岭镇赤石湾村。[1]
自然环境与生计[edit]
村落地处海滩沙质地带，面海而建，呈长方形。村民讲闽南话，分为2个村民小组，全村336户、1545人。耕地约240亩，主种花生、地瓜与水稻。[1][2]
村民以渔农结合为业。渔船中机帆灯光船35只，另有铁壳船5只、刺网船40多只，出产金色沙丁鱼、马鲛、鲳鱼等。村子临宫口港码头，设有渔产品与农产品交易市场，有鱼寮68间，摊店100多间。村子可通汽车，海上可直航厦门、汕头、南澳。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年9月，赤石湾村被认定为「漳州市2024年度市级“一村一品”专业村」（海产品加工）。[1]
