山后村处在诏安、云霄与东山三县的交界地带，村名取自驻地山后自然村。村中以养殖、捕捞和工厂务工为主要收入来源。[1]

人口与村情[edit]

博雅地名网记载村中有2034人、508户，设一个党支部，党员72人，分为13个村民小组，未注年份。村域耕地约1907亩，咸水养殖池逾400亩，滩涂逾500亩。[1]

果树以青枣、青梅、龙眼为主，海产以养殖海蟹、虾、鱼为主。村子处在沈海高速公路东山出口附近，交通便利。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前山后归梅林乡的山后保，解放后并入第四区林山乡。1955年至1956年间改属四都区，设山后乡；1958年9月划入太阳升人民公社，设山后管理区。1961年5月起为林头公社的山后大队（四都区），1964年4月归四都公社山后大队，1984年11月定为四都镇山后村。[1]

荣誉称号[edit]

该村于2021年11月获省爱卫部门命名，称号为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
