人口与村情[edit]
博雅地名网所载全村2084人、586户，村党支部有党员90名，未注年份。村域耕地约1150亩，林地约2000亩。[1][2]
村史[edit]
据博雅地名网的概况，村中先祖为唐代陈元光部将马仁之后，唐军平定诏安后在马埔山建马家寨，宋末时寨中势力较盛，并与帝室联姻。元初战乱中马家寨被毁，只有一名男婴寄养在东山的姑母家中幸存，长大后改随姑姓李氏，回到本地，在现在的村落所在立村，取名鹳巢。[2]
明代，村中族人李鉴中登进士第，后任湖广布政兼吏部司使。村中现存的明代大宗祠名为「锡尔堂」，为纪念先祖马氏而取，村名「马城」也由此而来。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前马城属奇湖镇马城保，解放初归第四区四都乡。1956年合作化后仍在四都乡内，1958年划入太阳升人民公社。1961年起成为四都公社下的马城大队，1964年4月仍属四都公社，1984年11月定为四都镇马城村。[1]
