美林村位于南浦乡西北部，处在南溪上游碗窑溪下方，南与南浦、龙桥两村为邻，辖美林、洋里厝、溪割三个自然村。[1][2]

村名由“竹尾林”雅化为“济美林”，后简称“美林”。村中大多为许姓，许氏与马苑、后坑、兴巷、龙桥等村同源。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，美林属南靖县龙园乡竹桥保，范围包括竹尾林与桥头。新中国初期龙园乡撤销，竹桥保改归程溪区。1957年，美林随程溪区的南浦、马苑、中西三乡划入漳浦；1958年并入长桥公社南浦管理区；1961年随南浦公社设大队；1984年改为美林村委会。[1][2]

2022年10月，村被福建省农业农村厅认定为第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村地处南溪两条支流的汇合处，两水会合之处叫合水潭，“合”字读如“鸽”。村东面以大锣山为界，西侧以千里亭山与中西林场相接，隔溪便是兴巷村。村内自古产毛竹，人称“竹乡”。[1][2]

碗窑坑有南宋瓷窑窑址。[2]
