马苑村位于南浦乡东北部，与龙海市程溪镇接壤，全村的八个自然村分别是火烧埔、畚箕湖、下坂、楼脚、溪边、庙前、前后厝和马铺。[1][2][3]
村名从民国时南靖县龙园乡的马苑保名称中取用，选马铺与霞苑（今下坂）两个社名各一字拼成。村中以许姓居多，族源与后坑村相同。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立之初，马苑归南靖县第六区（程溪区）管辖。1957年改属漳浦县，划入石榴区。1958年撤区建社，它成为长桥公社南浦管理区中的马苑生产队；1961年南浦公社设立后仍隶属其下。1984年，公社改为乡，生产队则转成马苑村委会。[1][2]
姓氏宗族[edit]
许姓在村里聚居，开基祖许克肖、许克昭兄弟，据说是南宋时期田源马坪许璞玉的九世后人。二人于明嘉靖年间在前厝、后厝立基，之后子孙散居马铺、溪边、火烧埔、畚箕湖等社。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
积庆楼为清代营造的双圈方楼，楼墙至今犹存。村中另有许氏家庙、霞苑庙，以及祭祀许真君与雷震子的双峰亭。[1]
著名人物[edit]
村中许氏出过多名举人：许文俊为明万历七年举人，后任浙江象山知县；许大才为清乾隆十八年举人，后任山东沂水知县；许大亨为清乾隆六十年举人，曾任罗源县教谕。[1]
