刺塘后社区在大南坂镇，城乡分类上属村庄，是镇里的一个居民社区[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
明代后期，开基祖李永祥原居海澄县龙井社（今龙海东泗乡一带），带着族人来此定居。村子旧名祠堂后，因闽南语“刺塘”与“祠堂”读音相近，改称刺塘后[1]。
1960年规划为大南坂农场的一部分，1971年称刺塘后作业区。1999年村级建制获提出申报，2011年挂牌成立；到2019年7月，才改设刺塘后社区[1]。
刺塘后社区于2021年获福建省爱卫办命名，称号为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
