历史沿革[edit]
「垵」字指海湾边沿之处，村庄处在古雷半岛末端，故名下垵。[1]
1955年12月由东山划归漳浦，属古雷区七乡之一。1958年9月编入杜浔公社古雷管理区，设下垵大队；1961年7月改由古雷公社管辖；1984年撤社建乡后，成为古雷乡（后改镇）之下的行政村，沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村境海域水深，南面的古雷头山挡去风浪，是天然的避风良湾。村中有下安码头，供渔船与小吨位货船停靠。[2]
经济[edit]
改革开放后，村民发展扇贝、太平洋牡蛎和海带的海水吊养，吊养成为村里的主要生产方式；1999年起新添网箱养鲍，村中还有扇贝和鲍鱼育苗场。[2]
