西辽村位于古雷半岛西海岸一带，原名西寮村，后因便于书写改称西辽村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
早年附近村庄的渔民在此搭寮住宿，便于下海作业。因所在位于西面海岸，称为西寮，后形成村社，并以西寮为社名；「寮」与「辽」音近，此名因而得来。[1]
1955年11月此地自东山县转入漳浦，属古雷地区七乡之一。1958年9月隶属杜浔公社古雷管理区的一个大队，1961年7月古雷公社成立后另设西寮大队；1984年9月撤社建乡，成为古雷乡（后改镇）之下的西寮村，后又更名西辽村。[1]
经济[edit]
村民以渔业为主，近海捕捞与定置网是传统生产方式，后来发展海上及滩涂养殖，主要养殖牡蛎、海带和紫菜。1994年围垦虾池300亩，对虾、花蛤遂成主要养殖品种。[2]
1999年，政府出资补助，村民集资出工，修成一条长约两公里的环村公路。[2]
