历史沿革[edit]
民国29年（1940年）属涂楼乡的涂楼堡，民国33年（1944年）涂楼乡并入屿头乡。[1]
新中国初期属十二区涂楼乡，1955年9月十二区并入杜浔区；1958年9月为杜浔公社涂楼大队，1961年7月改属沙西公社。今为沙西镇涂楼村。[1][2]
地理环境[edit]
村境位于梁山支脉金岗山南麓，背靠梁山，面向漳江；西与庵兜、下寨二村相邻，东与沙西村相接。[2]
省道漳东线公路及漳诏公路从村境穿过。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
海月岩佛寺始建年代不详，宋咸淳年间重兴，明万历年间重建。寺以巨石为顶，内设石室供佛，山中石刻颇多。[2]

涂楼社与丹舟社以林姓为主；埔头、埔里二社杂有吴、郑等姓，郑姓在埔里建有祖祠怀德堂。[2]
