和美村在盘陀镇西部，东面与西厝村为邻，南面接割埔村。村北以洞仔尖山为界，与石榴镇相望；西面一直延伸到盘陀岭顶，与云霄县火田镇为界。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，村名由原来的和坑村与济美村合并而成。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属八都西山保。民国时期归盘陀乡的长林保管辖，后乡级建制并入绥安镇。新中国初期隶属和坑乡，1958年为盘陀管理区下的和坑大队，1961年划归盘陀公社。[2][3]

1984年设和美村，1989年分出西厝村，1992年2月改属盘陀镇。[2][3]

村落与姓氏[edit]

济美林、顶涂两社为陈姓聚居地；崎脚、和坑院、塘仔后、过溪为王姓聚居地；顶埔、下埔为林姓聚居地。[2]

古迹[edit]

和坑社边的无象院，俗称和坑院，村名与此有关。其前身无象庵始建于南宋淳熙年间，据传当时岭下村落稀疏，常有野象出没。漳州知州傅伯寿始设“随庵立铺”之法，招和尚吴祖华带徒弟在和坑设庵，兼管驿铺事务。[2]

村中另有济美楼，圆形三合土楼，建于清代，楼墙尚存。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年9月，和美村获评「漳州市2024年度市级一村一品专业村」，主产杨桃。[1]
