本村处在镇中部的平地上，北面是仓里村，南面是割埔村，东侧与官陂村相接，国道324线穿村而过。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名因盘陀岭而来，该岭自晋朝以来已有此称。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代这里属常乐乡塘田里；清代归八都心一保管辖，民国期间属杂社保。新中国建立后初期归盘陀乡管理，1958年成为盘陀公社下的盘陀大队，1992年2月改由盘陀镇管辖。[3]

村落与姓氏[edit]

村辖墟中、岭里、山边、顶溪四社。墟中一社住有郑、陈、蔡、洪、周诸姓，多是从邻近村落迁来的；岭里为蔡姓聚居之地。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中有忠勇祠、忠勇墓和戚继光功德碑，均为明代剿倭遗迹。嘉靖四十三年（1564年）二月，戚继光追击倭寇至汤坑蔡陂岭，斩获数百级，官军亦有八十余人阵亡，遂葬于盘陀；同年他在盘陀圩口为阵亡将士建忠勇祠。[2]

隆庆元年（1567年），巡抚谭纶为戚继光立功德碑于祠中，碑今尚存，祠已坍废。忠勇墓于2001年被圈入天福茶博物院内，并建亭供人凭吊。[2]

村中另有一座岭仔楼，为圆形三合土结构，清乾隆年间修建，现仅余残迹。[2]
