历史沿革[edit]
民国时期村地属康庄保。新中国初期属康庄乡，1958年9月属长桥公社康庄大队，1961年从康庄大队分出，设省炉大队。1985年改属官浔乡，后随官浔乡改为镇。[1][2][3]
姓氏与宗祠[edit]
省炉社以王姓为主，有宗祠一座。南山兜社也以王姓为主，并有少数林姓居民，林姓是从南安迁来的。王姓原在省炉社，后分传至南山兜社。[2]
古迹与水利[edit]
村中的迎薰楼，是省炉王氏于清乾隆年间修建的三层单圈土楼。[2]
村中水田位于南溪之滨，历来易受水灾。1963年改建加固溪堤，长1300多米；另在汇入南溪的小溪两岸筑溪堤，共长1000多米。农田由这条小溪供水，有堤防护卫，旱涝都有保障。[2]
荣誉[edit]
省炉村于2022年10月经福建省农业农村厅认定，列为第二批「福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[3]
