历史沿革[edit]
民国29年（1940年）村地属官浔镇的霞炉保，民国33年改称炉山保。新中国初期属第三区（官浔区）大溪乡，1955年组成炉霞乡，1956年10月炉霞乡并入官浔镇。1958年9月属长桥公社下炉大队，1985年5月改属新设的官浔乡，1990年4月官浔乡改为镇。[2]
姓氏与自然村[edit]
村辖下炉、大溪边、洋坑、洪塘四个自然村。下炉社以何姓为主，为官浔上宗、下宗所传衍。[2]
古迹与风俗[edit]
下炉社有太子爷庙，农历九月初九庆祝太子爷寿诞；大溪边社农历八月二十二为「相公」寿诞；洋坑社十一月十五为「王公」寿诞；洪塘社九月二十六为「太师祖」寿诞。村中另有古榕3株、古樟1株和古松柏2株。[2]
荣誉[edit]
下炉村于2022年10月经福建省农业农村厅认定，列为第二批「福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
