巷内村在霞美镇西部，位于梁山余脉大肚湖山山麓的小盆地里，东面与眉田村相邻，越过山岭便是后井水库。巷内溪由石古、牛生、东、岩坑四条溪流汇成，朝东流入浮头湾[1]。
名称与沿革[edit]
村子所在的小盆地，进村的路像一条长巷，村民住在巷子的最里头，因而叫巷内。清代为七都巷内保，1940年划作霞美乡的巷内保。新中国时期属第四区旧镇区的巷内乡。1958年9月设巷内大队，归旧镇公社；1961年7月改隶霞美公社。1984年称霞美乡巷内村，1990年随乡改镇。[1]

村中田地以水稻为主，番薯和杂粮次之。山地高处栽树，平缓处种荔枝、龙眼、杨梅、枇杷等果树。村子属革命老区。[1]
