过田村在霞美镇东北部，东面与山前村接界，南面挨着刘坂村，西北以岩竹山为界，对面是旧镇镇的梅竹山。村西立有岩顶山，海拔388米。村中的土楼贻燕楼，门上题刻的年份为1560年[2]。

名称与沿革[edit]

古时村庄周边没有道路，出入都要沿田埂行走，故称过田。清代属七都刘坂保，民国时期隶属霞美乡刘坂保，新中国初期属第四区刘坂乡。1958年设过田大队，归旧镇公社的一处管理区统辖；1961年7月改隶霞美公社。1984年称霞美乡过田村，1990年随乡改镇。[1]

水利[edit]

村境内的大山水库建成于1958年5月，库容31万立方米，是过田溪的源头水库。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

贻燕楼为三层矩形土楼，门额题刻显示建于1560年（嘉靖三十九年）。[2]
