林前村位于杜浔镇东部，北面与院边村为界，南面连着湖里村，西侧与下蔡林场相接。[1]

全村分为林前、下吕、山里、林口、西关五个自然社。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代这里是九都境内的高山塔保，民国年间叫前保，并隶属杜浔镇。建国初归第七区（杜浔区）管辖，当时称院前乡。[2]

1958年9月，它归杜浔公社院前大队；1961年7月，林前大队独立设立。[2]

姓氏源流[edit]

林前社以卢姓为主，祖源与范阳村相同。下吕社多为吕姓，少数为何姓。[2]

经济与教育[edit]

村民以种植蔬菜、水果为业，外出经商与务工者也不少。[2]

村内有林前小学。[2]
