后因村位于杜浔镇西北边，村界东面挨着路边村，西面是徐坎村，南面有文卿村，西南方向与沙西镇高山村连接。[1][2]

下设八个自然社，即前陈、宅里、下薛、下高、田墩、河城、崎圳头与后因。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国二十九年（1940年）此地设后因乡下的后因保，民国三十三年（1944年）后因乡并入杜浔镇。[3]

1958年9月设杜浔公社后因大队，即今后因村的前身。[3]

村名来自陈姓始祖迁居此地开基的经过：陈姓先人自后溪迁来。博雅地名网记后溪在赤湖，百度百科记在湖西镇。[1][3]

地理环境与水利[edit]

杜浔中溪源出吴公山，途经本村，再经文卿村、范阳村一带，末了在杜浔盐场附近流入东山湾。[1][3]

北面有一座小型水库，名为龙峰水库（属小二型）。农田的灌溉水来自祖妈林水库的左干渠。[1][3]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻、蔬菜、豆类为主，荔枝是主要果树，种植面积约千亩。[1]
