亭里村位于赤湖镇东南部沿海，村名的来历是建村时村内建有一座亭子。[1][3]

1984年9月，亭里改为村委会，沿用至今。亭里村于2022年12月获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，命名单位为福建省爱国卫生运动委员会。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，亭里属十五都下的一个保。1940年，此地归金塘乡，设为亭里保；1944年改隶赤湖乡。[2]

新中国初期设下亭乡，属第六区赤湖区；1955年12月并入另一个乡。1958年9月设亭里大队，1984年9月起称亭里村委会。[2]
