赤湖镇位于福建省漳州市漳浦县东部，东面濒临台湾海峡，背依丹山，南与深土镇相接，西与湖西畲族乡为邻，北边与佛昙镇毗连，镇政府驻北桥村。[1][3]

全镇辖13个行政村和1个社区（赤湖社区）。据县政府网站，镇内既是县东部片区的文化、经济与贸易中心，也有渔业与工业；户籍人口按2024年末统计为6.2万人，合1.6万户。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，赤湖镇一带与深土、六鳌同属安仁乡下的含恩里。[3] 元代建有赤湖城，北桥村的村名即来自城的北门。[4][5] 明清时期，境内村庄分属十五都和十七都，其下设有赤湖保、赤水保等保甲。[4][5]

民国二十九年（1940年）设赤湖乡。新中国初期先后改为赤湖区、再改为镇，1958年改为公社，1984年又改为乡，1988年5月复为镇。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东临台湾海峡，海岸线长18.2公里。县政府网站记陆域面积为89.3平方千米，百度百科记行政区域面积为92.16平方千米，两处数字的统计口径不同。[1][3]

镇内有前湖湾和将军澳两处港湾，并建有一个二级渔港码头和一个三级渔港码头。赵家堡高速出入口距镇区约11公里，国道G228、省道漳东线和疏港公路穿过全境。[1]

人口民族[edit]

截至2024年末，全镇户籍人口为1.6万户、6.2万人。[1] 百度百科所载的数字是2019年末户籍人口62709人，年份较早。[3]

经济[edit]

农产品以水稻、大葱、胡萝卜和地瓜为主，特色水果有杨梅、桑葚、李子和莲雾。[1]

沿海有紫菜养殖（安角一带）以及金刚虾、南美白对虾的养殖基地。镇内的工业行业有皮革加工、五金电镀、游艇制造和石材加工等。[1]

文化[edit]

赤湖镇曾获评「省级宣传思想文化工作示范镇」，并获得「第十四届（2018—2020年度）省级文明乡镇」称号。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内的市县两级文物保护单位是威奕庙。县政府网站称它是开漳圣王陈元光民间文化的一处重要交流中心。[1]

此外，县政府网站还提到镇内的明朝御史詹惠公墓，另有南峰一品山石刻，以及「存膺褒纶」石牌坊。[1]
