洞野村是佛昙镇下辖的行政村，位于镇境东北部，又称洞野蔡，为蔡姓聚居地。村辖洞野一个自然村，18个村民小组。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代属二十三都，清初属福兴保，康熙三十九年改属新兴保。民国初属外东区东坂乡。新中国成立初，此地仍是东坂乡，受佛昙区节制。[2]

1958年9月设洞野生产大队，归东坂管理区管辖；1984年起按镇建制设为行政村。[2]

人口与姓氏[edit]

村内原有詹、黄、蓝三姓，后陆续外迁，蔡姓成了大族。[2]

清代蔡世远官至内阁学士兼礼部侍郎，1734年于任上去世；乾隆二年（1737年）朝廷追赠太傅并赐祭葬，墓在洞野社下凤山。[2]

经济[edit]

耕地710亩，其中水田298亩；种蔬菜、甘蔗、水稻，另有香蕉、龙眼、荔枝、芒果等果树。池塘一百五十多亩用于水产养殖。[2]

村内有果蔬腌制厂、石板材厂各一家，均为台资企业。[2]
