轧内村是佛昙镇下辖的行政村，位于镇南部，靠近滨海沙滩。村名来自村庄所在的方形平地，「轧」字是方言的音形象字。村辖轧内、径口、楼头三个自然村，7个村民小组。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属十七都石门上保，1940年属赤水乡轧内保。新中国成立初，此地是佛昙区的轧仔乡，1956年更名大坑乡。[2]

1958年组建大坑管理区，1961年后许与轧内分成两个生产大队；1984年9月改镇建制，设为行政村。[2]

人口与姓氏[edit]

村中为陈姓聚居，属「太傅派」。太傅派始祖陈忠，唐代开元年间任太子太傅，其后人陈史修在元朝初年来到鉴湖一带落户。[2]

经济[edit]

耕地1752亩，其中水田505亩；虾池200亩，鲍鱼池150亩，适合养殖鲍鱼和对虾。[2]

村边的鉴湖为淡水湖，周长约一公里，水清如镜，过去俗称大坑。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村东近海处有一片古香樟树群，计9棵，中间夹有两棵古榕树。博雅地名网记其树龄为712年。[3]
