历史沿革[edit]
明清时属漳浦县二十三都，民国初归外东区；1940年划入林东乡苏厝保。新中国成立初属下坑乡，1958年9月隶属下坑大队，1964年分出另设下苏大队。[2]
1984年9月起改按镇建制设行政村。[2]
人口与姓氏[edit]
苏厝下社是陈姓聚居地，陈氏自称开漳圣王陈元光之后；村内其余人家多为杨姓，以佛昙杨氏长房的后人为主。[2]
经济[edit]
耕地1031亩，其中水田587亩。1985年以来陆续围垦海滩，目前虾池八百余亩，养的有对虾、鱼类、青蟹，以及花蛤和泥蚶；淡水养殖面积500亩。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
马爷公庙在苏厝社，元至正年间建庙，所祀为辅顺将军与佛祖，1982年又经修葺。[2]
苏厝下社七株古榕树占地约十亩，树旁七块大石紧挨在一起。[2]
