佛昙社区是佛昙镇下辖的社区，属镇中心区，是全镇的居民自治委员会所在地。社区名称来自镇区西北角山上的一块巨石：巨石形如佛头，倒映在山下水湾中，故称佛昙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

这里的居民工作机构，最早是1960年成立的佛昙公社居民大队。1969年起，该大队协助公社动员知识青年和其他居民上山下乡。[1]

到1982年，居民大队改称佛昙镇居民委员会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区与岱嵩、花林、洞野、东坂、整美、轧内、后许、大白石、后社、人坪、新安、港头、吟兜、下苏等村相邻。[1]
