潭仔头村位于漳浦县旧镇镇中东部，村口有一池潭，村民在潭旁定居，旧称潭仔墘，第一次地名普查时改为今名。村内耕地1930亩，其中水田1150亩。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村口有一个池潭，村民在池潭旁定居，原称「潭仔墘」。第一次地名普查时，为便于书写，改称潭仔头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，两广按察使林春斋与进士林一新曾在此建造晏海楼与沧瀛楼。1960年村属旧镇公社潭仔头大队，1984年9月改为潭仔头村委会。[1]

经济与街市[edit]

水田主要种稻与香蕉，农地及山地种荔枝等果树约600亩，是村中的经济支柱。公路两旁形成街道与小市场，有村民在路旁开店，经营水果加工。[1]
