位置与水系[edit]
东厝村东邻山仔村，南邻浯江溪及后垅村，西邻赤土乡水头村的西林墘社，北面与赤土乡溪东村接壤。村庄北靠山川，南面是一片小平原，浯江两条溪流绕村南流。[2]
村西北面租地开发天福观光茶园与高速公路服务区，并设有唐山过台湾石雕园。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
东厝村已有550余年的历史。东厝社的追远堂始建于明正德年间，其祖先来自平和五寨埔坪，系「路下林」分衍而来。[2]
姓氏[edit]
东厝、上东坡、下东坡皆为林姓，坡内为欧阳姓，大石后以王姓为多，另有郑、陈等姓。大石后王姓祖籍秦溪。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
东厝社内有一座圆楼，名为光裕楼，楼已有年头，但墙垣尚完好。村中有玄天上帝庙，上东坡与下东坡另建有夫人妈庙。[2]
大石后的关帝庙主祀关羽，坐落于浯江畔，庙中所祀马王公俗称将军爷庙，属县级文物古迹。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2001年村获县委授予「先进基层党组织」称号；2004年和2009年两次获县级「文明村」称号。[2]
