历史沿革[edit]
清代村为秦溪保，民国32年起改行保甲之制。解放初为第四区（旧镇区）的前溪乡，1956年2月并入旧镇镇。1958年8月设秦溪大队，隶属旧镇公社；1964年至1980年间，玉厝、石桥、郭厝三个大队相继从中分出，秦溪大队只余秦溪社的大部分。[2]
姓氏[edit]
秦溪原住王、陈、卢、李、叶、吴、阮、许等姓。明永乐年间，王氏始祖王兴自横口（今官浔镇康庄村）前来开基，后裔又分居营脚、郭厝、玉厝与英山等处，宗祠名燕翼堂。村中至今保留陈厝埕、李厝街、叶厝巷等地名，可见原住各姓的痕迹。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
惠王庙祀广惠尊王谢安，为两进三开间的庙宇，规模较大。[2]
李仔园地名由来[edit]
秦溪西北公路边原是一片荒埔。抗战期间，秦溪社贫农王水涨在此垦荒种下十多亩李树，「李仔园」因此得名。解放后这里修复公路，建起汽车渡码头与公路桥，并设立李仔园站，成为正式地名；此后旧镇镇在此设立李仔园工业区，又开办了李仔园中学。[2]
