地名由来[edit]
村庄早先为甘姓与林姓聚居之地。明天启年间，一位甘肃天水的赵姓商人经商失利，投靠到甘、林两姓之间定居。此后赵姓繁衍兴旺，甘、林两姓却逐渐衰落，赵姓为感念旧邻，便以甘、林二姓为村名。[2]
位置[edit]
村北面隔小天马山与林美村为界，西与绥安镇英山村为邻，东面与石桥、秦溪二村接壤。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期村为旧镇镇甘林保，新中国初期归第四区前溪乡。1958年9月隶属旧镇公社秦溪大队；1964年9月另立甘林大队，1984年9月改称甘林村。[1][2]
姓氏[edit]
村中以赵姓人数最多，分布在各个自然村；黄、林两姓则只居溪头社。赵姓多由官浔镇赵厝分传而来，属「太祖派」，少数由湖西乡赵家城分出，属「魏王派」。[2]
