地名由来与位置[edit]
村庄原建在梅花树林地上，故名梅宅。村庄坐西南朝东北，西隔浯田山（海拔147米）与梅竹村为界，东南隔石埭山（海拔119米）与后埭村相接，西北隔鹿溪下游与秦溪村相望。草梅线贯通全村。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1934年村属旧镇镇奉溪保，1944年另立诏梅宅保。新中国初期划归第四区吾田乡；1955年9月转入旧镇区的梅竹乡；1958年9月起此处隶属旧镇分社后埭大队；1964年9月才独立成梅宅大队；至1984年9月才改称梅宅村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
村内原有耕地六百多亩，因旧镇桥闸长期失修，外海咸水侵入，现有三百五十多亩低洼地不能耕种，已改作虾池。山坡地原种荔枝、龙眼，因售价低、收益少，多已抛荒。[2]
村中没有工业，青壮年多在外务工或采石，留村的人以淡水养殖与少量水稻、蔬菜为主。[2]
