绥南社区位于绥安镇西部，属县城南郊。社区东面连着绥东社区，南面是南门社区，北面是绥西社区，西面隔鹿溪与京里村相望。社区名取义于其位于镇区西南方。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地称南隅，民国23年（1934年）设南隅保，民国29年（1940年）与周边联保合并入绥安镇，成为绥南保。新中国成立初期归第一区的绥南乡，1958年9月划作城关公社的绥南大队。[2]

1980年9月另组城关镇，1982年3月改名绥安镇。2003年3月，改称绥南社区，社区辖大坡、城内两个社，分设9个小组。[2]

古迹文物[edit]

城隍庙位于南大街，宋代始建，明弘治五年由知县王臣重建。庙宇坐北朝南，由门厅、正殿、后殿组成。[2]
