地名由来[edit]
村东南的溪边旧有通往马埔圩的渡口，溪滩形似鲂鱼之头，先称鲂鱼濑；建村时取名鲂头村。鲂与峰两字方言音近，后写作峰头。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前此地属吉龙乡的新峰保，解放初归下河乡的新林乡。1958年划入跃进公社，1961年改属新林公社，1964年转入马埔公社。1984年撤社设乡，大队改设村，本村遂属马铺乡。[4]
1986年初，峰头水库大坝主体建成，当年3月16日开始蓄水。水库是云霄、东山、古雷等地的重要供水来源。[2]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
