村子建在漳江中游西南岸，靠近瑞堂山，便以山名为村名。[1]

1958年从瑞溪乡析出，名为瑞堂生产大队，1984年设村。[1]

村民多种枇杷和荔枝，并外出谋生，农民人均收入8312元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅把瑞堂村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

2023年9月，瑞堂村被评为漳州市2023年度市级「一村一品」专业村，产品为枇杷。[1]

2024年11月，瑞堂村被评为2024年度福建省「一村一品」专业村，产品同为枇杷。[1]
