明代，一支人家从龙海市榜山坂头村迁至此地，此后世代在此居住。[1]
生产与行政[edit]
村中山地2520亩之外，还有水田2267亩；养殖用的蟹虾池约959.72亩。全村分为30个村民小组，选出户代表50人，外出工作的干部职工有27人。[1]
