地名由来[edit]
“美宫”二字分别取自美厝自然村的“美”与宫仔洋自然村的“宫”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1956年组建美宫大队，此后于1966年更名为朝阳大队，1984年改设美宫村村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村里曾有110余家石材加工厂，是石板材加工专业村。村中果园规模达千亩，所植为芦柑与脐橙；茶叶是农业的主体，其中铁观音、黄金桂、本山、毛蟹等茶树，属闽南四大当家茶品。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
境内现存贝乌纪念碑革命教育基地，以及桫椤树迹。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2022年10月，美宫村经福建省农业农村厅认定，列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
