林墩工业区属福建省漳州市长泰区管辖，1997年建立，与厦门市同安区毗邻，距厦门市区约60公里。区政府网的乡镇概况称，它2016年改为林墩办事处，下设5个行政村与1个社区，总面积96平方千米；其建制沿革一文在2019年的概述中仍称它为市级工业区。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年2月撤区并乡时，长泰县划为1个镇和17个乡，林墩与美宫都在被列的乡名之中。[2] 该区于1997年设立，据区政府网的乡镇概况，2016年改为林墩办事处；2019年开展石材整治后，这里转向产业转型升级。[1]

区政府网的建制沿革称，2007年底的辖区名单中已有林墩办事处，与乡镇概况所记的2016年不一致，此处以乡镇概况为准。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

甬莞高速横穿全区，区内设有出口；省道联五线穿境而过。[3] 辖区邮政编码为363900，长途区号为0596。[5]

经济[edit]

早期这里以石材加工为主导，百度百科称它是漳州市重要的石材加工出口基地。[4] 2019年大整治以后，产业向转型方向调整，转型后又培育文旅产业。[1][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

辖区内的玉珠庵位于江都村，为县文物保护单位，始建于1304年，清代重修。[6] 美宫村境内现存贝乌纪念碑革命教育基地。[7]
