地名由来[edit]
村名「高层」形容所处的地势：四面环山，山势一层高过一层，故以此为名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋、明、清三代，村地都隶属石铭里。民国时期与正达村并入正高保；1949年后划归岩溪圩区正高保；1951年设第三区高层乡，1952年划入第五区，1955年改属坂里区。[1]
1958年组建火箭公社（坂里）的高层大队，1984年10月政社分开后改为高层村。[1]
自然环境与生产[edit]
高层溪流经村境，博雅地名网称其为长泰第二大河流；村内高层水电站建于1980年代。[1][3]
耕地约1800亩，主要种植冬瓜、紫长茄；山地约33000亩，以连生林、麻竹、大竹为主，另有李树、茶叶。[1]
人口与民族[edit]
全村438户，人口1782人，党员62人，村两委6人，未注明年份。[1]
第十一村民小组是畲族聚居点，也是长泰区唯一的少数民族集中居住点，村内通行闽南语。[1][3]
