历史沿革[edit]
百度百科称，村子于1427年前后建立，明清时期隶属海澄八都；1959年转入龙海县东泗公社，直到1984年才改为现在的建制。[1]
据博雅地名网，始祖苏敬明代便在此开基。民国期间，村地归罗坑乡、东马乡的南陂保管辖。明清两代，村里获岁贡以上功名的人有三四十位。[2]

两家百科所记人口不一：百度百科信息框为3340人，博雅地名网为1700余人，两者均未注明统计时间。[1][2]
文化[edit]
村中苏氏祠堂原为三进的土木结构殿式建筑，龙柱凤屏，悬挂多块功名牌匾。祠前曾立十六座旗杆碑，文革期间被毁。[2]
祠堂之外，村中还有明代的苏氏后母节坊，以及古土楼、古井等遗迹。[2]
端午节旧有龙舟赛，正月十五仍有通宵「请佛」的习俗。[2]
经济[edit]
1996年，农业部把南溪糖厂定为全国大型乡镇企业中的一档。[1]
村里养殖南美白对虾，漳州市把这一片定为示范区。[1]
荣誉[edit]
百度百科称，该村曾获「全国文明村镇」「全国文化典范村示范点」等称号，并被誉为「龙海区第一村」。[1]
