厚境村是东园镇下辖的行政村，与东宝村、新林村、港边村、秋租村、田厝村、凤鸣村等相邻。村名的来历是：曾氏迁居此地养鸭，鸭母日生双蛋，人们认为这里是厚土之境，故以此命名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国末年，村地为峩山乡的厚境保。1950年并入海澄县第五区厚境乡；1959年划归浮宫公社厚境大队，1960年随公社并入龙海县，1961年转归东园公社。[1]

1984年，这里成为东园乡的厚境村委会；1993年，村委会隶属东园镇。[1]

文化[edit]

中央文明委于2017年11月授予厚境村「第五届全国文明村镇」之称。[1]

淘宝村的名单上，厚境村出现过两次，分别在2021年10月与2022年10月。另在2021年11月，它获福建省卫生村的认定，名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2024年，厚境村先于6月入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」，9月又被认作食品加工类的市级“一村一品”专业村。2025年3月，它成为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
