东宝村是东园镇下辖的行政村，与东园村、茶斜村相邻。村名原为东头，因程溪也有同名的东头，便取东头、宝里两个旧地名的首字组成现名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
早在1947年，此处已是峩山乡的东头与宝里两个保。1952年它成为第五区的东头乡，1959年并入浮宫公社，称东头大队。之后，1961年划归东园公社；1984年以东园乡的东宝村委会建制存在，1992年东园乡升格为镇。[1]
文化[edit]
东宝村获得福建省爱卫办的认定，成为「2021年福建省卫生村」（认定时间为2021年11月）。[1]
东宝村曾被列为「全国美丽乡村创建试点村」。[2]
