溪墘村属龙海区紫泥镇，在乌礁岛中部，地面西高东低，西南一侧挨着锦江。全村1108户、4653人。[1][2][4]
村民历来靠海吃饭，人工养殖海蛎、捕蟹和捕鱼是传统生计。村中出产的溪墘红蟳在2004年被认定为福建省名牌产品。[2][3]
建制变迁[edit]
明代的溪墘在龙溪县二十八都之内，属乌礁洲上的增兴社。乾隆二十七年，即1762年起，归乌礁保管理。[2]
民国时期分作溪墘前、溪墘后两保。1959年3月起为紫泥人民公社的溪墘生产大队，1967年改称龙海县紫泥人民公社溪墘大队。[2]
1984年建乡后称紫泥乡溪墘村，1992年撤乡建镇，改称紫泥镇溪墘村。[2]
姓氏与宗祠[edit]
早年村中是徐、黄、江、郭、钱、安、陈、林等十多姓杂居之地。清初康姓陆续迁来，如今人数最多，其余姓氏多已迁走。[2]
康氏大宗追远堂位于下埕社，始建年代不详，1992年由村民捐资重建。祠堂前原来是一口池塘，重建时填平改为广场。每年正月十五，新婚夫妇要到祠堂祭祖。[2]
村中另有大三房祠堂与棋盘祠堂，两座祠堂共用“凤凰穴”的风水格局。[2]
生计[edit]
溪墘人多地少，可围垦的浅滩有限，因此以海为业。先辈在九龙江口围出了几十围蚵埕；80年代蚵埕原属集体，体制改革后分到各家各户。[2]
90年代后，村民转而到沿海各地发展深水吊蚵。螃蟹捕捞曾用一种船底形似鸡蛋的“兰宅”船，到90年代中后期，村中已没有人再做这一行。[2]
1977年起村里规划新村，大菜园、下尾、圣殿、上洋、锦州等自然社陆续建成新居，全村也通了电、接上了自来水。[2]
教育与荣誉[edit]
新中国成立前，村中在黄氏祠堂办过初级小学。1959年改办为六年制完全小学，即溪墘小学，它曾是原乌礁岛的中心小学。[2]
1989年，村子获得全国百个村镇建设和福建省十个村镇建设先进村的称号。[2]
